The Golden Eagle Restaurant

Great Stop on the Hairpin Curve

Discovered this wonderful restaurant by accident and we are very glad we did. The view was fantastic even thou it was a bit hazy. You had a choice of eating inside or out on the patio but it was a bit breezy so we stayed it. Many choices to choose from and the bean salad appetizer was fantastic. I had stuffed shrimp with a crab meat stuffing and they were delicious. My husband had a GIANT pork-chop which was tender and juicy. We would definitely eat here again when we are in the area. Staff was friendly and we were not rushed with our mealVisited June 2015

Great Food, Great Service, AWESOME VIEW!

My husband and I sought out the Golden Eagle Restaurant after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor. We were traveling the Mohawk Highway and made this our halfway point/rest stop. We were not disappointed! Truly is in the “hairpin turn” of the Mohawk Highway, the Golden Eagle sits overlooking a valley of the most spectacular array of fall colors i have ever seen. We chose to sit outside on the balcony and were promptly greeted by our waitress, Michelle. She took excellent care of us and we visited about our native state, TEXAS! On Michelle’s recommendation, we both had the soup of the day, Vermont Cheddar, it was great! Hubby had a corned beef sandwich and I had a chicken panini. Best part? The hot chocolate with Peppermint Schnapps! YUM! Service was excellent at this restaurant, the view just made it even more enjoyable. Please stop here, you won’t regret it!Visited October 2014

5th Annual Lunch At Golden Eagle

On a very busy Saturday in late September, the staff at the Golden Eagle welcomed my group of 20 for an excellent lunch. The restaurant was packed but the staff attended to our group very efficiently. We enjoyed good food and drinks and had a great time. The Kentucky Bourbon Pecan Pie is well worth the calories and you can’t put a price on the view. Thanks to everyone at the Golden EagleVisited September 2014

I have been going to The Golden Eagle for a few years now and I have always been pleased. The service is always great (upstairs) and the food is wonderful. We usually go there for the Prime Rib on the weekends and it is always perfect. A huge piece of rib, perfectly cooked, bone in, with a different choice of sides every time. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice meal. And remember, this restaurant is not fast food. Plan on enjoying yourself and taking in all the views of the mountains and valleys from their great windows.Visited March 2011

Great Destination Restaurant

We were traveling across Massachusetts on The Mohawk Trail and was very disappointed to see that most of the small shops and restaurants were closed along the way. We were very happy to discover the Golden Eagle Restaurant was not one of the casualties of the current economy. Every aspect of our lunch was great. We sat outside on the second floor, the view is spectacular, especially amusing was watching drivers being surprised by the hairpin turn. Our meal was served promptly yet we were not rushed. Service was great and our server took the time to answer our questions about the facility as well as tell us a bit of the local history. We will definitely make it a point to return.Visited June 2011
